Beauty Inspired Chocolate

I am always looking for unique gifts to give to my clients. I can’t remember how I found Maggie Louise Confections an Austin, Texas-based uber creative confections company. Would you expect me sending anything less than haute couture designed chocolate? I think not my love.

I was attracted to this chocolate company that was launched in 2013 because it’s not just about buying or sending chocolate….been there done that, who hasn’t? It’s a company with color, personality and a cool customization platform making each box of chocolate a fun and memorable experience. Not only is Maggie creative and innovative but she is Le Cordon Bleu trained and takes cues from the fashion and entertaining worlds to give her chocolate design a modern, fresh and spirited approach.

You can imagine my beauty obsessed personality going into extreme hysteria when I saw the box of twenty glamorous white chocolate pink lipsticks. There was no way I wasn’t going to order these all for myself. I took advantage of the companies #treatyoself 25% off campaign I recently saw on Instagram and ordered these beauties along with the chocolate malt balls. Hey, Why not? It’s the month of love, isn’t it?

Maggie loves creating chocolates that tell a story and make an impact. Her work is very easily customizable for both large and small orders. This is fabulous if you want to stand out to your boss, clients, family or friends. All the clients I have sent these chocolates to are still raving about their experience.

Maggie’s team are true artists; their design process starts with a sketch to make sure they include all of the elements that are essential to your chocolate box. They will play with color, shape, texture and layout until the box is perfect. They have an extensive library of chocolate molds, and their artists can work with almost any color palette to paint and create a chocolate collection that is all you.

So let’s talk about the taste because it’s all cute and fun looking at unique and different chocolates but if they are not rich, profound and delicious so what right? The lipsticks are almost too gorgeous to even think about putting teeth marks all over. I have to mention I am not a white chocolate lover (the darker, the better) so this order was a big risk for me. Opening the box of chocolates, you get a very soft aroma of white chocolate that’s sweet and inviting. The texture of the chocolate lipsticks was silky smooth and heavy. The second I put the chocolate in my mouth, I felt the velvety texture along with hints of vanilla bean. I was surprised that the white beauty inspired chocolate was so mild and not too sugary.

Next up was the decadent pink milk chocolate malt balls. I have always been a fan of malt balls from their crunchy center to their lingering sweet aftertaste. I loved the fashion forward box the malt balls came in you can’t beat black and white stripe with nail polish and lipsticks all over. Inside the box, the malt balls presented their great self in a clear plastic bag which showed off a pink gemstone hue. One bite into these bad boys and I knew I had a problem. How can you eat just one? I had a handful as I was shooting them and decided that they were best put back into the box they came in until my next sweet tooth craving.
