Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Review
I know the word obsessed is completely overused in the beauty industry but when it comes to skin care I AM OBSESSED. I contribute this little skin care/product obsession to being an esthetician. I love trying anything and everything when it comes to skin care whether it be oils, serums, exfoliants, unusual facial treatments; I am always game. Dermalogica was the first skin care line I was exposed to when I was in esthetic school back in 2000, most of my post graduate study was completed at The International Dermal Institute. There are a couple of products that stand out to me in the Dermalogica skin care line, one of them being the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. If you haven’t tried the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant you are depriving your skin of ultra smooth radiant skin on a daily basis.
The Daily Microfoliant is not your typical exfoliant. It’s a rice-based powder exfoliant which is activated by contact with water. This fabulous formula of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant releases Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes which gently lift dead skin cells for an instant brightness and smoother skin. I tend to change up my skin care products in the fall when my skin tends to get more dry. Using an aggressive exfoliant during the Fall/Winter months is a huge no-no in my book. I love that the Daily Microfoliant is gentle enough to use everyday without leaving your skin raw or red. You might be asking yourself right now “Do I need to exfoliate?” The answer to this is YES, YES,YES. It’s extremely important to remove the dead skin cells that are sitting on top of your skin and creating a dull complexion,. You should do this two to three times a week. Check out the art of Daily Microfoliant below it’s an easy six step protocol card for you to follow each morning. I also have a video below showing you how to use the product.
My experience using this product is that I love how gentle it is on your skin. If you are looking for an aggressive exfoliant this probably wouldn’t be the right fit. Remember, when using an exfoliant less is sometimes more, having a consistent gentle exfoliation daily is going to produce radiant non-irritated skin for the future.
