As a beauty blogger for over ten years, I have refined the way I approach testing products. It’s not possible to try and test everything on the market; I have a precise formula when it comes to what products I will buy and what products I will ask the company to send me when I am testing new skincare. This aspect is what sets me apart from all the other beauty bloggers out there. I am committed to sharing products that I use and find beneficial from my research. Beauty is my life, as far back as I can remember I was giving advice on what skin care products to use and I was the go-to girl to applying false lashes on all my girlfriends for the Debutant Ball.
I have been following Kate Somerville for some time now and what stands out to me is that she is also an Esthetician and uses her products in her treatment room. Her skin care formulations are proven in her clinic and then bottled for at-home use. Visiting her skin care clinic in Los Angles and receiving a luxe facial is on my beauty bucket list.
I wanted to try one of Kate’s most popular products called DermalQuench Liquid Lift + Retinol. The name itself is just delightful from “Lifting” to “Retinol” I want it all. But first, let me tell you why it is so important to have a skin resurfacing product incorporated into your skincare routine. I see too many of my clients not using advanced products to help with the aging process. They are skipping over the essential step to exfoliate, retexture and refine their skin making all the other products they apply to their skin wasted. If you don’t peel and rid your skin of the dead skin cells two to three times a week, you will not see radiant, glowing skin. It’s that simple ladies, dry, dead skin cells hanging out on the surface of your skin does not make for a youthful looking face.
I haven’t been that excited about how the texture of my skin has been looking lately. I have these two clogged pores near my hairline on my forehead that make me crazy. I extract them weekly and was thinking I am going to have to go to the Dermatologist to get them injected. Nothing has helped refine these two angry pores, so I thought this was the perfect time to test out the DermalQuench Liquid Lift + Retinol.
DermalQuench Liquid Lift +Retinol claims to transform your complexion combining the power of Oxygen with firming Retinol to refine skin’s texture and create a smooth, supple glow. The DermalQuench is formulated with a Retinol Active Ingredient, two types of Natural BioRetinols-Babchi Edible Seed and Spanish Needle Extracts and Kate’s Advanced HydraFill Complex to firm skin by helping to promote collagen production. This product is applied at night to clean skin. All of this sounds great but does it work?
The first night I tired the DermalQuench I didn’t shake the bottle long enough, and the product sprayed out as a liquid. I realized that I had to give it a good shake for a minute or two then press the actuator button to dispense a small amount of the foam onto my fingertips and massage into skin. It felt very light and refreshing on my skin and absorbed right away. I then applied my nighttime moisturizer. The next morning I was putting my makeup on, and I forgot (silver moment lol, I can say this now that I am gray) that I used the DermalQuench. I was impressed that after only one application my skin felt smooth yet still hydrated. I continued to use this product for the next two weeks, remember those two angry pores I mentioned before that were determined to derail my flawless skin? Well, they were flat as a pancake, and I was smitten.
From all my beauty testing it’s not easy finding a Retinol product that doesn’t try out your skin. I am very impressed with Kate’s product line and the significant improvement in the appearance of my skin, I feel that this is a great night-time skincare product to include in your anti-aging routine to improve the appearance of skin roughness, firmness, pore size and fine lines.
