Harbour Island

I was off again to another amazing destination wedding this time on the quaint little island of Harbour Island in the Bahamas. Harbour Island is 3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide the island is located approximately 200 miles from Miami, 6o miles from Nassau and 2 miles east of Eleuthera. Our bride was from Texas and flew in 65 guests from all over the USA to Pink Sands Resort www.pinksandsresort.com where she would exchange vows with her fiancé Adam. This couple has a very romantic story, Shelby and Adam met and after four months of dating Adam was deployed to Iraq, he was supposed to be away for 12 months but duty kept him overseas for 15 months. Before Adam left the couple made a pack to be committed to each other and to write and talk as much as possible while he was away. Adam returned in December of 2007 and proposed to Shelby in July 2008 under the stars with a romantic dinner. The time spent away made both Shelby and Adam know they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. I went for a very beach chic look to Shelby’s hair and makeup she wanted relaxed but with a touch of upscale beach glamour. I gave Shelby a blended bronze wash to her eyes with a pinky nude lip we didn’t need to use much bronzer from all her sun kissed days prior to her wedding.

Another great surprise to the wedding was one of our former brides Meredith Nussbaum (Fisher Island November 2007) she was Shelby’s Maid of Honor. I was so excited to see her and hear the news that she was pregnant! This island is perfect for the bride who wants to spend time with her friends and family over a long weekend or whole week. It makes your wedding last longer and not feel so rushed. Molly is the event coordinator at Pink Sands Resort and a lifesaver for all the Brides that don’t know how to plan a destination wedding. Our Bride was so relaxed and excited not to mention sporting a very sexy tropical tan. I decided to rent an apartment on the island, I wanted to feel like one of the natives, the main mode of transportation is by golf cart, the island is so laid back you leave your doors unlocked, keys in the golf cart etc. The food is very fresh and delicious, a couple of my favorite places are The Rock House www.rockhousebahabmas.com, Harbour House  and Sip Sip. I am looking forward to my next island wedding.    harbour-island-009.jpg harbour-island-011.jpgharbour-island-018.jpgharbour-island-045.jpgharbour-island-023.jpgharbour-island-033.jpgharbour-island-025.jpgHarbour Island, BahamasHarbour Island, Bahamasharbour-island-048.jpgHarbour Island, BahamasHarbour Island, BahamasHarbour Island, BahamasHarbour Island, Bahamas
