Happy 2014 New Year my beautiful beauties! As you can see I have taken a little time off from my YouTube Beauty Videos and my blog. There is a lot to catch you girls up on from my last post. If you have been following me on Instagram you have seen some of my recent international wedding travel AND you have seen our new adorable addition to our family 🙂 our little Frenchie! She is just so darn cute that I take pictures and video almost every hour. If you don’t follow me on Instagram check out my page so you can see her.  I am so excited to get back into the swing of blogging and creating New, Fresh beauty videos for you girls in 2014. OK enough catch up let’s rendezvous in Harbour Island.

Every trip to Harbour Island located in North Eleuthera, Bahamas  is like heaven literally. I am losing track of how many beautiful brides I have worked with on this very private island. I flew into North Eleuthera on a Friday December 6th, 2013 for one of my New York City brides weekend weddings. You can find some earlier blog posts of my Harbour Island Weddings  by clicking here. Take a look at some of my bridal hair and makeup pictures on Pinterest under “My Harbour Island Brides”.

Harbour Island is a magical place just ask anyone that has experienced this secret island. My bride kicked off her celebratory weekend with a tented beach rehearsal dinner followed by a bonfire. The beauty of this island is that it’s not a nightmare to get to. There are direct flights into North Eleuthera (ELH) from Fort Lauderdale International (FLL) or from Palm Beach International (PBI) airport. Silver Airlines has many flights that are on time with impeccable customer service not to mention PINK is one of their company colors (check out my fabulous pictures of my cute little plane below).

Just beautiful.

Once you arrive at the North Eleuthera International airport, you take a short taxi ride to the dock, where you board a small speed boat/water taxi to Harbour Island which takes less than 10 minutes. Make sure you reserve your golf cart prior  to arrival though Johnson’s Rentals. Golf carts are the only way to get around besides on foot.

I love getting up early before I have to be on location, walking the enormous beach and taking it all in. The weather was incredible, blue blue skies, crystal clear water and a nice breeze. The bride invited me to join them in an early morning yoga class on the beach, now how can you get more relaxed then that?

Perfect spot to relax

The venue for the December 7th wedding weekend was Coral Sands, sister hotel to Pink Sands (check out my other wedding at Pink Sands here). A place where you leave your busy hectic life behind the second you sip on a chilled glass of complimentary champagne offered at check in. Did I mention that everyone becomes your best friend from every corner of the world? It’s a very surreal experience of flip flops, cocktails, pink sand beaches and no stress!

Upon arrival I headed straight to the brides cottage called “Sea Oats” to meet the bride and get ready for our rehearsal dinner/trial hair and makeup. This is a great opportunity to try out different hair and makeup styles for brides that I haven’t had a chance to meet prior to the wedding.

Can’t get much better than this for a destination wedding!

We ended up doing a sexy loose side updo with a soft natural makeup look for the casual rehearsal dinner. The wedding day hair and makeup was more polished with a side swept bang and glowy bronzy eyes, which complimented my brides sleek minimally embellished silk wedding dress (bought at Kleinfled).  The maid of honor opted for a simple chignon accented with a gorgeous crystal hair brooch and a sexy smokey soft eye.

I had the pleasure of working with photographer Gary Ashley and his wife Lisa Ashley of The Wedding Artists Collective out of San Francisco. I will do an update to this blog post when they release their pictures of this destination wedding. Gary and Ashley were spot on when it came to making it all come together. Shooting a destination wedding is like being a kid in a candy shop, there are so many amazing locations that you want to shoot at every one. Gary was super easy to work with and very chill which makes for a very happy bride.

The ceremony took place on the beach just behind the bridal suite. It was simple, beachy and just exquisite. Birchwood created the arches where the bride and groom would say their “I Do’s”, rose petals lined the sand with cocktail servers waiting to greet guests with champagne.

The best part of the Bride and Groom’s entrance into their cocktail hour is being lead by the Junkanoo band. It’s a sure way to get your guests pumped for the festivities planned for the evening. Every Bride that I have had the opportunity to work with on Harbour Island has opted for this grand entrance, which never disappoints.

I am always sad to leave this beautiful little slice of heaven.  I ended my weekend with champagne in one hand, feet sinking into the wet pink sand and my face lifted towards the sun taking in every sea salt filled breath like it was my last (was that dramatic? probably but that’s what I was doing). Until next time Harbour Island……….
