Why This Foundation Is Worth $110 a Bottle
Don’t get crazy about the price before I can explain why I feel that the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation is worth the splurge. I have been obsessed for years on getting the right foundation consistency, shade, feel, and look to my skin so much, so I did a video on it called Confessions of a Foundation Junkie. I have upgraded my foundation to La Mer since filming this video in 2014.

My discovery of the La Mer foundation wasn’t planned, I didn’t say to myself “Let me find the most expensive foundation I can find today.” I went to Nordstroms for some random item, and when I was leaving, I saw the La Mer display and had recently read they relaunched their foundation line. The sales lady came up to me and told me I had to try the foundation and handed me a sample. I thought great more samples no biggie I will toss it when I get home. Well, instead of throwing it out I tried it on my skin and became obsessed instantly. The silky feel, the ultralight texture it felt like a second skin. La Mer’s is entirely weightless and natural, Even though this is very light it has buildable coverage and an SPF 20.
So here is the deal I bought my first bottle of La Mer foundation in November 2016 for $110 I tracked how long it lasted me which was approximately four months. I use one pump of the foundation that covers my entire face if I use two pumps I have found I am wasting product. To date, I have purchased four bottles of this magnificent foundation totaling $440. If you break it down for the year that’s $27.50 a month or 90 cents a day. Breaking down how much it costs on a daily basis is how I look at my investment. If you watch my confessions of a Foundation Junkie video, you will see I easily spent that or more trying to find the perfect foundation. The second I discovered La Mer there was no turning back. I get so many compliments on my flawless looking skin every day, and I have used it in every one of my photo shoots for the last two years with beautiful coverage.
I started out using the color #12 Natural for the first two bottles; I thought my skin looked a little dull so on a trip to replenish I went to Blue Mercury. Blue Mercury on Las Olas is bright with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows that let in natural light seeing my skin in the daylight, not to my surprise I figured out I was using the wrong foundation shade. For my third and fourth bottles, I bought the color #11 Shell.
La Mer formulated without Parabens, Phthalates, and Sulfates which is very important to me, if you have been following me on my Insta Stories, you will see that I have been on a mission to use clean beauty and\or products that do not include these chemicals as much as I can. Clean beauty girls don’t get your panties in a bunch I understand La Mer’s soft fluid long wear foundation is not clean by any means, but until I find one that is clean AND makes my skin look flawless, I am sticking with La Mer. You also receive the benefits of what La Mer is known for their “Miracle Broth” and Color Capsule Technology. I am so happy that I didn’t throw out the La Mer sample, it has given me a beautiful, radiant skin for the last two years.
