Zakia's Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask Review

There is nothing better than to come home, run a hot bath and put on a detoxing face mask.  I am always on the hunt for rich decadent face masks that restore my skin.

I tested out Zakia’s Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask, it’s 100% pure and is mined in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.  What I found interesting about this product is that you can use it not only as a face mask but as a hair mask, Ghassoul deep cleaning shampoo and full body mask.  A great value for $19.99. The full body mask seemed like a lot of work so I opted to just do my face.

I have to say that I would prefer this mask to be already mixed.  I am not a huge fan of having to mix product, I find it messy and time consuming.  I placed the clay mask powder in a bowl with warm water and mixed it into a creamy paste. It didn’t blend as well together as I had hoped but I was very pleased to see that it has a rich fluffy (with a couple little lumps) texture when I was finished mixing.  You can see in the picture above that some areas are thicker than others.

To apply I used a mask brush to keep it as neat as possible. You can also use a spatula or fingers to apply.  The mask felt very cool and hydrating when I applied it. The directions said I didn’t have to leave it on until it fully dried since that would be a little more difficult to remove. I left it on just until I saw that the mask was drying around the edges (about 10 minutes). Removal of this mask was a challenge. It basically just moved around on my skin when I tried to remove it.  This is one of my pet peeves when it comes to face masks, they have to be easy to apply and easy to remove.

My skin did feel clean, toned and detoxed after using this mask. It’s very important to me to be using skin care products that are 100% natural with no harsh chemicals. Zakia’s has offered my glamorous readers 20% off their purchase.  To experience this product and save 20% off your order, use coupon code ZMBLOG-50 at checkout.

Here are my Pro’s and Con’s on this face mask:

  • 100% pure and natural
  • Great for both hair, skin and body
  • Detoxifying
  • For all skin types
  • Cooling and hydrating
  • 8 oz jar for $19.99 will last you forever!

  • Comes in a powder form, you have to mix the product before applying
  • Messy
  • Time consuming
  • difficult to take off

Overall, I would use this mask again keeping in mind that I will have to perfect my powder and water mixing, application and removal techniques. I hope this Zakia’s Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Mask Review is helpful to you.
